City of McLeansboro
Home

McLeansborough came into formal existence by its designation as the new county seat when Hamilton County was formed from White County in 1821. With its incorporation in 1859, the spelling was shortened to McLeansboro.

We're proud of our past and the opportunities of the present as we plan for the future. Four buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, a City Square with some of the best Mesker Steel work in the region, and three museums offer families ample opportunities for exploration. From the 58 acres wilds of Rogers-DeWitt Park to the planned play areas at Kids' Kingdom and Lake McLeansboro, there are always places to go and enjoy the outdoors. The no-fee pavilions at Kids' Kingdom and Lake Side Park are best reserved by phoning City Hall

Dedicated to finding new ways to foster sustainable economic growth and diverse development, we are open for business!
